Putting nine players in the scoring column, including a game-high 18-point production — all in the first half — by Cole Van DeWiele, the visiting Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers earned a 57-46 victory over Heron Lake-Okabena / Fulda in B-Squad boys basketball action at Okabena last Tuesday evening, February 18.
The loss dropped HLOF’s overall season record to 14-10.
The Chargers, who claimed a hard-fought 45-42 triumph over the Coyotes at Westbrook back on December 5, rode the scoring prowess of Van DeWiele to a 32-23 halftime lead Tuesday. HLOF battled back well in a closely-contested second half, but was never quite able to catch up.
