Heidi Winter, auditor/treasurer, presented the ditch bills for the April 28th commissioner’s meeting. Commissioner Thiner questioned the amount Riley Land Improvement, LLC charged for jetting stating on one bill it was $100 per hour and the other was $125 and felt there should be a consistency. Travis Radke, ditch inspector, shared there is a difference in the jetting between the two jobs – one needed the pot hole to be sucked out needed additional PPC.
Commissioner Kluis questioned work done on the Engelkes property. Jeff Engelkes had contacted him in regards to the trees the family had taken out. The plan was to spray the tree stumps so they wouldn’t grow back however, there are sprouts growing on them. Travis Radke explained the trees were taken out as they were over the county tile. However because it is essentially city property, the maintenance is left up to them. Commissioner Kluis said he will relay the message. The bills in the amount of $2,788.00 were approved.
Winter presented a resolution to participate in the 2020 performance measures program. Murray County has consistently participated in the program. It was created by the legislature in 2010 as a way for public officials to determine the efficacy of providing services and measuring residents’ opinions of those services. It does this by reporting on ten standard service benchmarks. With county participation it offers exemption from levy limits and local performance aid of $0.14 per capita up to $2,500. The 2019 aid was listed at $1,161.00. The commissioners agreed to be a part of this resolution.
