1921-MARCELLA FURY-2020
Marcella Helen Fury, the daughter of George and Mary (Ebbers) Ackerman, was born on December 11, 1921 near Iona, MN. She grew up near Iona and and attended country school and graduated from St. Columba Catholic High School in 1939. Marcella was united in marriage to Phillip Fury on June 3, 1941 in Iona. After their marriage they lived on several farms in the Kinbrae and Brewster area. In 1965 they moved into Fulda and she remained there after Phillip passed away in March of 1993. Marcella worked at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda for over 25 years as a nurse’s aid. Marcella passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda at the age of 98. She was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church where she belonged to the F.C.C.W. Marcella volunteered at the Fulda Senior Dining for 18 years. She enjoyed music, the Prairie Concert Series, gardening, reading, dancing and day trips with her sisters. Marcella loved autumns on the farm
Survivors include her daughters, Janet Feemster of Minneapolis, MN, Patricia Winter of Winona, MN, Sharon (Bill) Fuerstenberg of Fulda, MN, Linda Winter of Fulda, MN and Jolene (Greg) Fordahl of Eau Claire, WI; 14 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and 3 sisters-in-law, Connie Ackerman of Mitchell, SD, Marge Ackerman of Iona, MN and Ruth Fury of Janesville, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Phil Jr. and Kevin Fury, son-in-law, Gene Winter, grandchildren, Paula and James Fuerstenberg and siblings, Evelyn Lucker, John Ackerman, Joseph Ackerman, Rose Lucker and Agnes Bruns.
A private family graveside service will be held at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Cemetery in Fulda. The Totzke Funeral Home in Fulda is assisting the family with arrangements.
