The Christmas Seal Mobile X-Ray Unit is scheduled to visit Fulda, on October 6th and will be located at the Legion Memorial Hall.
Lions District Governor, Ray Hunziker of Chaska was the guest of honor at the regular monthly meeting of the Fulda Lions Club on Monday.

Funeral services for Raymond Ness, 48, were held last Saturday with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Frank Lehnhoff, 75, passed away on Tuesday.
Robert Holinka, 41, passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 18, 1966.
Jane Thoreson and James Bretzman were united in marriage on Saturday evening at Belmont Lutheran Church in rural Lakefield.

The Fulda Area Credit Union officially opened Monday with a ribbon cutting taking place with special guest Governor Rudy Perpich and Mayor Mary Magnus doing the honors. Also present were Commissioner Hatch, Ted Winter and Jim Vickerman.
The city crew and Gerber Backhoe are digging and laying pipes to connect well No. 3 behind the Senior Citizens Center to well No. 1 under the water tower. The cost will be approximately $5,000.
According to City Clerk Delores Swan there has been no filings for the three seats open on the City Council.
The Fulda Raider Band wins overall for the 8th time in 9 years at the Turkey Day parade.
Lois Elskamp and Durland (Turtle) Carlberg, employees of the Nobles County Coop Oil of Fulda receive their first dollar plaque from members of the Fulda Area Community Club.
Funeral services were held in Aurrora, MN for George Miller who passed away on September 12th.
Irene Lydia Boehnke passed away on September 12th at the age of 73 years old.
An open house will be held in honor of Adolph and Mildred Gunderman’s Golden Wedding Anniversary on September 21st.
Stephanie Wahl and Douglas Engler announce their engagement. An October 11 wedding is planned.

In April patrons of School District 505 voted to pass a bond issue in order to raise money to fund technological and facilities improvement projects. $500,000 from the bond issue was set aside to upgrade network labs and internet accessibility. New software was installed and each teacher received a new computer. The networking between the two schools requires laying fiberoptic wire and is expected to be done by October 15th. Automation of both libraries is nearing completion. $235,000 from the bond issue was designated for facilities upgrade which included: Elementary exterior restoration and tuck-pointing and high school roofs.
The City of Fulda approved a proposal for another housing rehab project through R & H Management. The total project will be an estimated $587,800 with 33 residents interested in rehab of their homes.
With two seats up for grabs, those of Ron Kellen and Barb Sandhurst, filings for City Council closed Tuesday with Tim Strenge and Dave Titus adding their name to the list with incumbent Ron Kellen. Barb Sandhurst has chosen not to run again.

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Arnt are proud parents of a girl, Jessica Nicole born September 9th. Grandparents include Don and Clarine Uttech.

Pete Kellen had some interesting things in this garden this year. He grew one vine that had potatoes on one end and small tomatoes on the other end. He also had what he called blue potatoes, the inside of which was a purplish color.
