In memory of Rose Kopitski

1942-ROSE KOPITSKI-2020

Mass of Christian Burial for Rose Kopitski, 77, of Bloomington, formerly of the Marshall area, will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2020, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall.

Rose Marie (DeVos) Kopitski was born on December 5, 1942, in Ghent, MN, to Cyriel and Lena (Boerjan) DeVos. She grew up on the family farm near Ghent and received her sacraments at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. She was a “Daddy’s Girl” while growing up and loved to help her father on the farm. On August 17, 1963, she was united in marriage to Anton Kopitski. To this union were born children Joseph, Kevin, Sharon, David, Lisa and Mary. The family lived in the Marshall area and Rose worked at various jobs. She was a very social and caring person. Rose had a zest for life. She was passionate about her family and she had a loving heart and a positive attitude. She enjoyed activities including playing cards, going to the community center and concerts, and reading books. Rose always left her conversations with a smile and a hug. For the last four years, she was living in assisted living in Bloomington.

Rose died on Saturday, May 23, 2020, at the Martin Luther Care Center in Bloomington, MN. She is survived by her children Joseph Kopitski of Minneapolis, Kevin (and Pam) Kopitski of Minneota, Sharon Kopitski of Bloomington, David (and Kim) Kopitski of Sioux Falls, SD, Lisa Blumberg of Minneapolis, Mary (and Ryan) Chacula of Dundee, MN; grandchildren Matthew (and Eh K Mui), Kaitlyn, Hannah, Amanda, Jesse (and Cindy), Jazmynne, Richard (and Bobbi), Zack (and Melina), Carlos (and Brittni), Cory, Jennifer (and Chris), Jorun (and Mike), Christopher, Dylan (and Ashley), Hunter, Ashley (and Phil), and Harley (and Cody); great-grandchildren Mason, Vivian, Evelyn, Jaxon, Ka Mia, Sofia, Adrian, Layla, Ivy Rose, Malachi, Ezekiel, Neko, Danny, Harper, Granger, Jaxson, Ryder, Maverick, Ana, and Olivia; brothers Jacob DeVos and Charles (and Patty) DeVos; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Anton, granddaughter Starlean, brothers James and Leonard, and sister Mary Ann.
