The joy of your first child and the anticipation of what you will be able to teach him/her are things you envision as you prepare for this little bundle of joy.

These were visions Chris and Kelly (Spartz) Konechne had for their arrival of their first child. Theodore “Teddy” Joseph Konechne arrived on July 11, 2015 exactly one month early from his due date. At the time the couple lived in the Twin Cities and were home visiting Kelly’s parents, Rod and Alice, for a baby shower that was planned in the couple’s honor.

Kelly’s water broke at 5:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. After calling the doctor, the couple figured they had plenty of time to get back to the Cities, which was about three hours away. Chris, Kelly’s mom and Kelly hit the road at 6:00 a.m. About an hour into their travels Kelly began having contractions and by the time they were approximately an hour from the hospital, the contractions had gotten significantly stronger. Chris flipped the flashers on and picked up speed and quickly booked it to Waconia. They arrived at 8:40 a.m. – just in the nick of time. The doctors and nurses were on hand and whisked Kelly away. Teddy was born at 9:22 a.m. God had blessed them with a beautiful baby boy!
