The Fulda Raiders boys claimed two overtime wins this past weekend topping rival Murray County Central on Friday night, 51-50, and then traveling to Wabasso on Saturday afternoon nabbing a 87-76 victory. Earlier in the week Fulda was routed by Mountain Lake Area who claimed a 70-43 win.
Fulda 51, MCC 50
Friday night’s contest with the MCC Rebels was well played game with the home team. The Raiders were able to control the tempo and used their defense to keep the Rebels in tow.

Raider boys defeat Wabasso
Fulda 87, Wabasso 76
Fulda traveled to Wabasso on Saturday, December 10th for a girl-boy double-header.
The boys were first to hit the courts and once again kept the fans in suspense taking the game into overtime.
The two teams exchanged three points shots to kick off the game with Leighton Gehl hitting one for Fulda while Cooper Taylor notched Wabbasso’s score.
The Rabbits went on a 6-0 scoring drive leaving Fulda down 5-13 midway through the first stanza.
As the clock hit 8 minutes Fulda got out its funk with Justin Dierks hitting a 1-and-1 opportunity followed up with Leighton Gehl’s free throws and four points from Jared Jans, 16-21.
Wabasso’s Tony Franta connected on a shot from beyond the arc to keep the Rabbits in control 24-16.
Fulda inched their way back into the game with Jans, Kunerth and Gehl all able to hit a buck leaving the Raiders shy of the Rabbits, 25-27.

Raiders fall to MLA last Tuesday
Fulda 43, MLA 70
Fulda hosted Mountain Lake Area on Tuesday, December 6th as their second game of the regular season. The Raiders were coming off a 86-79 victory over Heron Lake-Okabena from the previous week and looked to tally another W in the win column. This was not to be the case as MLO earned a 40-23 halftime lead and carried it through to the second half outscoring the Raiders 30-20.
Aaron Hulstein was the only Raider to hit double digit figures on this night. Hulstein was 2 of 4 beyond the arc as well as in the paint earning him 10 points.
Justin Dierks tallied 9 points in the contest while Dalton Slinger was credit with 7. Ben White tallied 6, Christian Goedtke 2, Noah Salentiny 2 and Jarred Jans 1.
Leighton Gehl hauled in 8 board while Matthias Kunerth nabbed 5.
