John Beech receives prestigious Legacy Award

If you’ll ask John Beech just what kept him motivated in his 45 year career as a Minnesota DNR wildlife technician, he will admit that it was a very busy job with no lack of things to do every single day.  He of course down plays modestly the impact that his efforts have made upon the area’s wildlife, yet those accomplishments have not gone unnoticed, nor unrewarded.

Beech, who retired his position with the DNR in June of last year, has left behind an impressive legacy, and last November awarded with the Minnesota Waterfowl Association’s prestigious “Legacy Award”.

“John’s passionate commitment to wildlife, exceptional work ethic, comprehensive knowledge of wildlife and their habitat, and lifelong accomplishments are a model for all who value Minnesota’s wildlife,” officials said regarding Beech’s work.
