Fulda girls win in OT; defeat Rebels 73-69

It took overtime Friday night in Slayton for the Raiders to get a win. After an uneventful first 18 minutes, it did not seem like it would take overtime to seal the victory. But a scrappy Rebel’s team kept working and chipping away at the double digit lead the Raiders held for a majority of the first half.

It did not take long before things got interesting. With over 5 minutes gone by, both teams found themselves in a tie ball game. MCC continued to fight and eventually took a seven-point lead and gained all the momentum. It seemed as if the Raiders wouldn’t get out of that hole but they decided not to quit. They dug deep and found a way to get back in the game and regulation ended in a 59 – 59 tie.
