Because of winter’s cold weather people usually spend more time inside their homes especially during the months of January and February. Along with that may come some feelings of boredom. The dark days of January can be REALLY long if a person is feeling like its too much of an effort to brave the cold winter nights, especially after having been gone at work most of the day, and after all, it’s REALLY cold outside.
There are a few really fun ideas that a family can incorporate into the winter months to help break-up boredom and the wintertime blues.
How about instead of eating the evening meal at the table, enjoy an indoor picnic! Using a little imagination, plan out a simple picnic-style meal and lay a blanket on the floor. Imagine that you are at your very favorite sunny, summertime location. Is it grandma’s backyard, a park, your fire pit, a friend’s fire pit, a recent vacation spot? (You’re pretending to be outdoors, so absolutely no television! Family conversation is a bonus of an indoor picnic.)
