Joe Jovonovich was one very happy coach as he watched his team take first place in the Seven Star Wrestling Conference Tournament on Saturday. Fulda had a top three wrestler in each of the 12 weight categories; 95 – Tim Daniels (1st), 103 – Brian Grothe (3rd), 112 – John Hart (3rd), 120 – Bob Hill (3rd), 127 – Roger Paplow (1st), 133 – Jim Baumgartner (2nd), 138 – Wayne Paplow (1st), 145 – Lynn Schumacher (1st), 154 – Joe Runkle (2nd), 165 – Larry Koehn (2nd), 175 – Charles Olson (1st), and Heavy Wt – Craig Shea (3rd).
Fulda High School seniors will hold a carnival to raise money for their upcoming ‘Tour Days’. The carnival will be held on February 18th and feature a bake sale, concessions, bingo, booths of interest for all ages and a raffle drawing.

Marvin L. Jansma has been promoted to the permanent grade of Airman First Class. He is stationed with the 405th Fighter Wing, F-102 Fighter Interceptor Squadron, Clark Air Base, Philippine Islands.
Harry Olson died late Tuesday afternoon, February 7th at the Veteran’s Hospital in Minneapolis.
Agnes F. Nigg passed away on January 31st after a lengthy illness at the of 65 years old.Frank Haberman passed away on January 26th after suffering a heart attack at the age of 66 years old.
Delores Behr and Eugene H. Pelzel were united in marriage at Sacred Heart Church in Heron Lake on January 14, 1967.
The marriage of Mary Jane Vosburgh and Thomas Ommen was solemnized at a Nuptial Mass in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato on December 31, 1966.
Top men bowlers for the week were Glen Eshleman 235; Les Czepa 220; and Fred Zemler 214.

Dundee’s new Postmaster, Mary Kluver, was sworn in on Friday.
At the Fulda City Council meeting, Mike Nagle was appointed to the Public Safety Commission and will replace Wally Schoeb.
Winning the Worthington Elks Lodge hoop shoot contest were Candi Hup (2nd in girls 8-9) and Bradley Carroll (2nd in boys 10-11).
Ron and Carol Gresham and their two sons have moved to the Fulda area where Ron will begin work at the Hustad Funeral Home.
Fulda Fire Department responds to two calls this week; A grass fire at the Bill Samp farm and a hay feeder fire at the Richard Nelson farm. No serious damage occurred at either call.
Raymond Nelson recognized for his 24 years of dedicated leadership at Maple Lawn.
Glen and Kay Gunderman to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on February 17th.

Clarence E. Plut, 82, passed away at his home on January 24th after an illness of many months.

The City of Fulda will receive over $13,000 from FEMA to cover the cost of storm damaged trees. The city will be removing and replacing up to 56 trees. In addition the city will receive approximately $8,000 to help cover the snow removal expense for extra manpower and equipment.
Voices with Wings performs several selections on Sunday at the Fulda Community Center.
St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church cast to perform “They Run in Our Family” on February 15th.
John Bestge is honored as Maple Lawn Resident of the Month.
Elsie Eucken passed away January 27th at her home at the age of 100 years old.
Caroline Kremer passed away on January 27th at the age of 99 years old.
John and Mary Lynn Ulrich are the parents of a son, Christopher, born January 27th. Grandparents include Paul and Kathleen Stumm and Marie Ulrich.
Alan and JoLynn Vander Lugt announce the arrival of their baby girl, Megan born January 9th. Grandparents are Bill and Erma Kunerth and Jim and Nathalee Vander Lugt.
