As one of the items under the new business portion of the Fulda City Council’s meeting agenda Monday evening, a building permit for  Casey’s General Store was approved. The company will be expanding the building to the south and remodeling the interior of the store.

During Public Forum, Ted Winter and G. W. (Doc) Schwarz informed the Council of a $38,500 grant received from the Legacy Fund through the Minnesota Historical Society. The grant will cover the cost of hiring engineers and the construction documents that they need to complete and submit to the Minnesota Historical Society.  The Fulda Depot, which was constructed in 1880, is in need of  some structural repairs, windows, and painting. The Fulda Heritage Society is working with SMSQ Architects, Northfield, Minnesota. The Fulda Heritage Society asked permission to store some of their historical collections in a portion of the old Fulda Elevator.
