The Citizens Committee for an Adequate Murray County Courthouse released schematic design drawings for a proposed new courthouse building to replace the present courthouse built in 1891.

“Birthday Party” will be the theme at the 10th consecutive Sunday afternoon Ice Skating on the Fulda Community Rink next Sunday. Cake will be served from 2-4.

Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Herrmann are the parents of a daughter, Brenda, born February 3rd. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Quaintance and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Herrman.

Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Johnson announce the birth of their son, Kirk, on January 28th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Merl Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Thelbert Knudson.

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Kelly are the parents of a baby girl, Theresa born February 8th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Pete Kelly.

Mr. and Mrs. Adelbert Koopman are the parents of a baby girl, Nita, born February 7th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brown and Mrs. John Koopman.

Fulda Raider boys basketball team win two on the week; defeating Lamberton 67-61 and Magnolia 69-61.

Funeral services were held for Harry Olson on February 10th.

John Hartman passed away at the age of 71 at the Slayton Hospital.

Ray Olson passed away February 12th at the Worthington hospital.

Patricia Biegler and Robert Swenson were united in marriage on Febuary 4th at St. Columba Church in Iona.

Pudge Sanow was honored last weekend with a Jaycees International Senatorship Award, the highest award a Jaycee can receive, at the Ten Outstanding Young Minnesotans convention.

Fulda Women of Today President Sheila Beeck was given the ride of her life by F.J. Ramerth of Ramerth Aerial Spraying as together they delivered the “Lost
Sheep” to the Lamberton Women of Today Chapter. The Lost Sheep was a state wide promotion in which the each chapter was given a wooden sheep and asked to return it to their Pal Chapter. President Beeck opted to drop of the sheep in a small tin can, some rock and a homemade parachute! The package was successfully caught by the Lamberton Women of Today members.

A water line broke in Fulda on Friday night. The break was discovered in front of the Interstate warehouse door. The majority of Fulda was without water for only 1 to 2 hours. The south side of Fulda was not so lucky as they were out of water from Friday at 11:00 p.m. to Saturday at 5:00 p.m.

National FFA week is observed in Fulda.

Tami Jorgensen and Eugene Rasmussen announce their engagement. A June 13th wedding is planned.

Kristan Groenewold and James Weidert were married on January 24th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Worthington.

Mary Tucker and Gary Kuehl announce their engagement. a July 11th wedding is planned.

Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Ackerman are proud to announce the birth of Kimberly born January 30th. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Myron Onken and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Ackerman.

Chuck and Myrna Hammond announce the arrival of Laura on February 3rd. Grandparents include Richard and Loretta Hammond and Fred and Elizabeth Wolf.

Milford W. Davis passed away February 6th at the age of 92 years old.

Dora Biegler, Slayton Bakery’s sweetheart to celebrate her 80th birthday on February 12th. Dora has worked for the Slatyon Bakery for almost 31 years.

Fulda’s BPA members participate in region competition. Qualifying for State Spring Leadership Conference are Tony Grothe, Tammy Wenzel, Ann Schwab, Jenni Beeck, Clint Froderman and Lenny Diekmann.

Fulda’s St. Paul Avenue is slated for improvements in 1998; repairs include street, curb, gutter and light standards.

Southwestern Minnesota school districts will not suffer any loss of state education aid because of excessive snow-day closures, according to Rep. Ted Winter.

Rep. Ted Winter recently met a delegation of officials from the Novosibirsk are of Russian Siberia at the State Capitol. Discussed was a trade agreement between Minnesota and Russia.
