Movie makers from Columbia Pictures brought their cameras to Fort Hood, Texas last week to film a color commercial for the Army Nurse recruiting program, of which 1st Lieutenant Kay Lehnhoff of Fulda was the ‘star of the film.’ Kay is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Lehnhoff and is a pediatrics nurse at Darnall Army Hospital.
The 1966-67 wrestling team heads into tournament play after winning the conference trophy.
The basketball team, coached by Verne Olson, traveled to Luverne to take on Adrian in sub-district play this Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Chepa of Dundee are the parents of a daughter, Kelly born Monday, February 13 in Westbrook. Grandparents include Ted Chepa and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Knudsen.
A baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. V.J. Montaleone on February 10th. Polly Ann’s grandparents are Mrs. Louis Montaleone and Mr. and Mrs. E. O. “Fritz” Reusse.
Mr. and Mrs. John Clark observe their 58th wedding anniversary.
Leading the charts this week in bowling were Leroy Lanoue with 220 and Marv Lehnhoff with a 208.

St. Paul’s School held a Winterim this week with workshops for students such as sheep shearing, fishing, sweatshirt applique, frosting of cakes, apple art, fancy flowers and decoupage.
The Fulda Area Lakes Preservation Corporation announced the rip-rapping project done this winter is a huge success.
The Fulda Speech team took first place in a meet held at Southwest State University at Marshall this Saturday.

The Fulda Area Credit Union held its 1986 annual meeting on Monday night. FACU began last fall and has over 400 members at present.

Lucile Groskreutz passed away on February 10th after a long illness. Lucile was born in Fulda on January 12, 1898.

Rep. Ted Winter would like the state disaster relief legislation put on fast track stating, ‘We need to get help flowing now.” The snow emergency relief bill won approval from the House Judiciary Finance Division and faces another hearing in the full Judiciary Committee next Wednesday. The bill is split three way; 7 million earmarked to assisted 49 Minnesota counties; 7 million available statewide for local government snow removal; and 6 million statewide to help with local government flooding.
D.A.R.E. education took place this week under the instruction of Police Chief Jason Schulz. Essay winners were Kyle Koster, Amanda Kremer, Susan Grandgeorge, Elizabeth Witzel, Lance Beckman, Dana Bestge, Annette Kremer, and Shelby Witzel.
