Westbrook-Walnut Grove, 18-2 on the season and currently falling in second place in Red Rock Conference action came to town on Thursday night.
The visiting Chargers created a 13 point lead by halftime, 40-27 which managed to be just enough to hold off the Raiders in the second half (36-35) to notch the 76-62 win.
The Chargers were led by Matt DePrez (17 points) who hit eight field goals on the night.
Dalton Slinger, who scored a game high 21 points, started the Raider scoring with his patented three.
Five consecutive scores from DePrez pushed WWG out front 10-3. A time out was called by Fulda’s coach Colby Pack to talk things over. Following the time out, Leighton Gehl was sent to the line where he dropped two shots, 5-10. Justin Dierks nailed his three point shot before WWG made their 10-0 run moving out to a double digit advantage 23-8.
Slinger was perfect at the line and later added a couple of three’s, 16-28. With 8:18 on the clock, Matthias Kunerth hauled in the rebound for the put-back points and was followed with a field goal by Dierks, to close the gap to nine, 21-30.
