Mr. and Mrs. Vance Scott and family attended the funeral of her brother, Peter Basset on Thursday. Mr. Bassett died in Los Angeles, California while on vacation after suffering heart attack.
Mrs. Erma Beckman passed away on Monday, March 20, 1967 at the age of 64 years old.
Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Schuster are the parents of a daughter, Jacqueline born March 13th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Bohlke and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Schuster.
Norman Rehnelt, 35, an employee of the Federal REA, suffered electrical burns while he was working near Windom Tuesday. He was taken to Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis and is reported in fair condition.
Leo Heimendinger, former graduate of Fulda, has been chosen as a semifinalist for the Teacher of the Year in Truman, Minnesota.
Quick work by the Fulda Fire Department quite possibly could have saved the home of Marjorie Martyn as her stove and smoke stack were removed from the home and the plugged chimney opened. Very slight smoke damage occurred.
Clem Smith and Vic Roth are preparing a window display to be placed at Interstate Power Co. that will show the new Murray County Courthouse which will be voted on by the county residents April 4th.

Vern and Nellie Pals recently sold Pals Cafe to Pat and Carol Erpelding. Erpelding’s own and operate Pat’s Pizza Shack in Slayton, MN and will continue to do so. Bobby Lupkes will be the new manager of the cafe in Fulda.
Fulda Game and Fish Club poster contest winners were: first place, Kaye Howk, second place, Jolleen Wiener, and third place, Kirk Clayton.
On Saturday 30 schools and 550 students gathered at the Fulda schools to participate in the annual Fulda Invitational Speech Festival. At the end of the day the Fulda Raider Speakers captured first place with 128 team points.
The city council approved spending $300 on material to build a catch basin at the boat access on north lake. Gravel washing down the hill during heavy rains fills the boat launching area.
The council also approved On Sale 3.2 beer licenses for The American Legion Post 318 and Pirate’s Cove and Off Sale for Pirate’s Cove, Rich’s Clover Farm and Ommen’s Mini Mart.
Hank Lenards, Chairman of the District 8 Committee, presented Alex Fisher with a plaque last Friday at the boys championship game for his unselfish dedication, loyalty and service to District 8 athletics.
Elizabeth Garman and Michael Herrmann were united in marriage on October 4, 1986 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulda with Rev. Gary R. Clayton officiating.

Herbert Heintz passed away at the age of 87 years old. Funeral services were held on March 16th.
Aloysius Steffes passed away March 5th at his home in Worthington at the age of 81 years old.

Wilma and Bill Lindquist enjoyed a trip “down under” as they toured New Zealand and Australia during what was sometimes 114˚ heat for two months.
The Fulda City Council approved an increase to the Fire Department Relief Association fund.
Fulda Elementary School children enjoyed green eggs and ham as part of their St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
Fulda Girl Scouts joined with other troops in the celebration of the 85th birthday of Girl Scouting.

Frances Waller passed away December 25th. Mr. Waller was the Vocal Music teacher in Fulda during the 40’s and 50’s.
Marion Frerk passed away at the age of 68 years old on March 14th.
Luella Barrett passed away on March 13th at the age of 92 years old.
