“Thank you for helping me find Teddy,” five-year-old Aiden Remme shared last week in a Facebook video. Aiden, the son of Chris and Tracy Remme of Brewster, has been battling brain cancer for a little more than a year.

Diagnosed in February of last year, Aiden has been undergoing numerous appointments, chemotherapy treatments, scans and surgeries. Throughout all of those treatments and procedures, he has had his teddy bear with him. Teddy was with Aiden for chemotherapy treatment number 60 on Friday, March 17, and treatment number 61 on Friday, March 31. But in between, Teddy was missing.

Following his treatment on March 17, Teddy was lost. The Remmes returned to their home near Brewster before realizing that Teddy was missing. Dozens of telephone calls were made, to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, to restaurants and to other places the Remmes had stopped after leaving the clinic, but no one had seen Teddy. It was feared that the bear had been lost permanently.
