Four Fulda High School students, Jason VanDyke, Kasey Hermeling, Matthias Kunerth and Emily Schroer (standing in for Camryn Baumhoefner) recently spoke to Fulda 4th through 8th grade students on Monday about how they, as well as adults are just “A Click Away From Chaos”.
The two separate lyceums, led by Phil Olson of Voices of Character, addressed the benefits and pitfalls of social media and internet usage. During the first session, Fulda sixth, seventh and eighth grade students were the audience. During the second session, the audience was the Fulda Elementary School fourth and fifth graders.
Using the metaphor of a polished stone, the panel members compared their characters to a polished stone. They suggested that, much like a polished stone, we should try to keep our character as smooth as possible. If we make decisions on either the internet or through social media that are out of character, then our character becomes rough around the edges.
