For the first time in Fulda Raiders boy’s golf history, the boys left the Worthington Country Club hoisting the 1st place trophy on Wednesday afternoon. Beating WWG by 13 strokes, the Raiders went on to a round of 362 to become the 2017 champions of the Red Rock Conference. What an awesome accomplishment for this group of young men to show off the hard work and dedication they have put forth to the game of golf these past few years!
Leading the way and finishing in 2nd place in the entire conference was sophomore Payton Marquardt who fired an 86 on the round, 2nd to only MCC’s Tyler Groves who shot a 78 to earn individual champ. Payton’s round of 41 on the front and 45 on the back consisted of almost all pars and bogeys. With this round, Payton earned All-Conference. Also joining him with All-Conference honors were senior Justin Dierks who fired a 43-46 en route to a 4th place finish of 89. The third and final Raider All-Conference member was freshmen Joe Fischer who came in with a 92 on his round giving him back to back all-conference finishes for the 9th grader. Rounding out the team scoring on the day was Cory Renneke who shot a 95 and gave us the team score of 362 on the day. Also shooting on the day were Tyler Madison 104 and Brandon Everett 107.
