A SUMMARY OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE MURRAY COUNTY BOARD 5-31-2017

May 16, 2017, 8:30 a.m. Pursuant to notice, the Murray County Board of Commissioners convened with the following members present: Commissioners Magnus, Kluis, Jens and Thiner. Also present Aurora Heard and Travis Smith. Excused Absence: Commissioner Gunnink.

MSP to approve the agenda as modified.

MSP to approve consent agenda item 1.

MSP and carried that all claims as presented were approved for payment. The Chairman was authorized to sign the Audit List dated May 16, 2017 with fund totals as follows and warrants numbered 152801 – 152871:

County Revenue Fund 56,348.64

County Road & Bridge Fund 37,436.53

MSP to approve ditch contractor bills for County Ditches No. 43M, 73 and Judicial Ditches No. 12, 28 totaling $2,463.00

MSP to approve the renewal of the 2017 Seasonal Liquor “On Sale” and Seasonal Sunday “On Sale” License to Andrew Kopperud d/b/a Painted Prairie Vineyard for the license period June 1, 2017 to October 31, 2017.

MSP to approve ditch inspection report for County Ditches No. 42, 43A, 46, 57, 61, and Judicial Ditches No. 7(2), 10, 20.

MSP to approve and authorize the Board Chair sign a letter of support for the National Service Program and to send to Congressman Peterson, Senator Franken and Senator Klobuchar.

MSP to approve that effective July 1, 2017 ACE will no longer be vacating their office space in the Human Services Building and for Coordinator Heard to send notice to Southwest Health and Human Services.

MSP to approve a cyber security training by Earthbend for employees on Wednesday May 24th in the amount of $1,300.00.

MSP to approve allowing the parks employees form the concrete under the bleachers in Olson Arena.

MSP Resolution No. 2017-05-16-01, Resolution Recommending that Jerry Lonneman, Rodney Spronk, and Joe Weber be appointed to the Lincoln Pipestone Rural Water System Board of Commissioners Background information.

MSP to approve hiring Sarah Soderholm as the Environmental Technician with a start date of June 2, 2017.

MSP to approve hiring the following seasonal positions:

Wyatt Heezen – Seasonal Surveying Technician with a start date of May 17, 2017;

Nicholas Demuth – Seasonal Museum Assistant with a start date of May 17, 2017.

Bryanne Bose – Seasonal Museum Assistant with a start date of June 1, 2017.

Justin Benda – Seasonal Parks Maintenance Work with a start date of May 30, 2017.

Kevin Nelson – Seasonal Weed Sprayer II with a start date of May 25, 2017.

Linda Nelson – Seasonal Weed Sprayer with a start date of May 25, 2017.

MSP to approve an employer cell phone for Janet Timmerman.

Open Forum/Public Comment – The Lake Shetek Sportsman’s Association was present.

MSP to approve with thanks a donation from the Shetek Sportsman’s Association in the amount of $800.00 for the fish grinding station at Marsh’s landing.

MSP to accept the 2017-2018 Radio Marketing Proposal of $235.83 per month for advertising on KJOE 106.1 and KISD 98.7, further moving to authorize the Board Chair to sign the agreement on behalf of the county.

MSP to approve the Commissioner Vouchers for the period of April 23, 2017 to May 6, 2017.
