Gehl lands on the State platform in the 3200 Meter run

Eighth-grader Morgan Gehl runs the 3200 meter race in track and field competition and she enjoys it every step of the way! Gehl’s 2017 record, as posted on the Minnesota High School League website, shows her running under the 12 minute mark 9 out of 11 races. Her personal best on the season was achieved at the Dick Davidson Invitational on May 11th with a time of 11:38.20.

On June 13th Gehl competed at the state level for the second time in her career thus far. In a tight field of runners Morgan placed 5th to land on the platform at Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. Her time for the event was 11:16.96, less then 5 seconds behind the fourth place runner and less then 36 seconds behind first place.

This is by far Gehl’s most successful event, however she has participated in the 400, 800, and 1600 Meter runs, as well as the high jump and the triple jump. She has also joined her teammates in the 4×800 relay at several meets.

Congratulations Morgan on a great season!
