Jerry’s Jottings

This week is a big one with rain that was very much appreciated. Most got one to three inches. It is also the twenty-five year anniversary of the Chandler-Lake Wilson EF-5 tornado that destroyed both communities. There was a feeling at the time that there was little left but the residents dug out of the wreckage with a determined mine set that they would rebuild the community. They did just that. There was plenty of help with the clean up of destroyed buildings. The communities rebuilt and are thriving today. This week the communities will celebrate twenty-five years.

Fulda has there annual Wood Duck Festival. I believe this will be their 33 year mark and back when Shep was a pup it was it was called a Summer Festival. And Sheps papa would remember the Water Festival back in the sixties. Everything changes but is the same.

At work, one co-worker says to another, “Excuse me, may I disturb you shortly?”

“Of course, what is it?”

“Nothing, I just wanted to disturb you.”
