Early Saturday afternoon, a scheduled water fight broke out just east of the Fulda Fire Hall. The water fight was part of the 2017 Fulda Wood Duck Festival activities, celebrating 40 Years of Thunder with the Ironhorse Motorcycle Club.
A team of firefighters from the Iona Fire Department joined in this year’s water fight.
But, the winning teams were all from the Fulda Fire Department. In first place was the team of Ted Dierks, Brian Ackerman and Scott Bultmann. The second place team was comprised of Mike Milbrath, Ryan Baumgartner and Neil Clarke. In third place was the team of Spenser Christensen, Chad Muecke and Neil Frodermann.
During an intermission in the water fight, children were able to use fire hoses, guided by fire fighters, to blast a 2.5 gallon jug and roll it along with water pressure. The children made quite a picture as they lined up in a very long line awaiting their turn at the hose.
