Fulda’s 2017 Fulda Wood Duck Festival truly did have some thunder when rain showers rolled in, but the actual theme was 40 Years of Thunder, recognizing 40 years since the incorporation of Ironhorse Motorcycle Club.

Grand Marshals for this year’s Saturday evening Grand Parade were all members of the Iron Horse Motorcycle Club.

(Due to Saturday evening’s rain storm adversely affecting the public address system, no announcer was available during the Grand Parade.)

The newly crowned Miss Fulda, Courtney Heppler, and her royal court, Princess Claire Westra and Princess Bailey Onken, along with Little Miss Fulda Brie Kirchner and Little Miss Princess Madilyn Kramer, reigned over this year’s festival events.

Thursday evening’s burgersupper was catered by Brian’s Supper Club and served by the Fulda Raider Volleyball Team. The team is raising funds for new uniforms.

Musical  entertainment for the evening was provided by the Fulda Area Big Band.

Friday evening events kicked off with the Community Supper with pulled pork on the menu. Entertainment for the evening included the Kiddie Parade, a concert by the Fulda High School Band, and the midway by Midwest Rides.

A spectacular Fireworks Display began at dusk.

Saturday’s activities were numerous and included the Fulda Wood Duck 5k Walk/Run, Irv Larson Memorial  Tractor Ride, Kids 1 Mile Fun Run, Kids Fishing Contest, a 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament, an open house and lunch at the new Historical Society Building, as well as the firing of Fulda’s Cannon by the Cannoneers.

The Lion’s Street Dance provided great dancing and listening music later on Saturday night.

Sunday breakfast was served by the Fulda Fire Department.  A community worship opportunity was provided by the Fulda Community Choir as they presented the musical God Will Make A Way by Don Moen.

Bob and the Beachcombers were very entertaining with their comedy and music presented from the Larson Band Shell.

Split the Pot drawings were held every hour from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
