Fulda Theatre showing “Monkeys Go Home” in color starring Maurice Chevalier and Dean Jones.

Specials at Jerry’s Jack and Jill include bacon 29¢ a pound, whole chicken 29¢ a pound, and cut up frying chicken 31¢ a pound.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Zuhlsdorf are the parents of a baby girl Susan, born June 15th.

A son, Donald, was born June 25th to Mr. and Mrs. William Eldridge. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Luther Eldridge and Mrs. Carson Ommen.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Zemler announce the engagement of their daughter, Barbara to Mr. Roger Bunkers. An August wedding is planned.

Miss Lois Fitch and Mr. John Steiner were united in marriage on June 10th at St. Marys Catholic Church in Hawarden, Ia.

Miss Kathleen Luehmann and Richard Heger married on June 17th at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fulda with Rev. Edward Scheuring officiating.

On Saturday, June 19, Lois Capito became the bride of Luther Heintz at Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church of Milwaukee.

Funeral services were held for Leonard R. Bothwell on Wednesday. Mr. Bothwell passed away June 26th at the age of 75 years old.

George Getting passed away on Tuesday of a gun shot wound. The Nobles County Sheriff’s office is investigating.

To date, the Fulda Raider Marching Band has won 56 first place and overall trophies out of 62 contests under the direction of Band Director Mike Peterson. The Fulda community is very proud of their success.

Fulda Threshing Bee to be held August 1st.

Charles A. Holinka received a plaque for serving 14 years on the Schmidt Panel for G. Heileman Brewing Co., Inc.

Wallace and Fernetta Brown of Sanborn and Roland and Shirley Buschena of Fulda announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their children Debra and John. A September wedding is planned.

Edward and Viola Brunk will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on July 5th.

Bob and Mary (Heger) Sejnoha wish to announce the birth of Paul born on June 26th. Grandparents are Paul and Doris Sejnoha and Raymond (Fritz) and Sally Heger.

Rebecca Wandersee participates in Miss Teen of Minnesota Pageant.

Herbert Eigenberg passed away on June 15th at his home at the age of 54 years old.

Susan Koster, who will be a Senior at the Fulda High School this fall is presently participating in the Minnesota Junior Olympic Volleyball program. On Friday, June 26, Susan will travel with her team to Chicago to participate in the Nation Junior Olympic Volleyball tournament.

Since May 27, replacement construction has been underway on the bridge that lies just north of Fulda on Highway 59. The old bridge has been knocked out and new abutments have been poured for a new bridge. If construction stays on schedule the bridge will be completed in 30 working days.

Fulda Wood Duck was a great success with locals enjoying parades, concerts, and good food.

Storm blows through Fulda with fierce winds and rain leaving a trail of debris. Trees weakened by the earlier ice storms could not stand up to the extreme winds and came tumbling down. Lightening strikes created power outages and the rains left over an inch and a half. Tornado sirens were sounded but no official tornados were sighted.

Fulda Public School District takes part in Telecomm Co-op allowing internet services and networked computers in the classroom.

Kathi Duerr places in the 12 out of 1200 entries in a recipe contest held by the popular Taste of Home magazine with her turkey potato pancake recipe.

Clem and Gen Sieve to celebrate there 50th wedding anniversary.

Evelyn Haseman passed away on June 4th at the age of 74 years old.

Alice Evans, 83, passed away at her home on June 18th.

Rep. Ted Winter today congratulated the Fulda Schools for posting a zero dropout rate in a report recently issued by the Minnesota Department of Children, Families & Learning.
