What the Title “Miss Fulda means – by Miss Fulda 66-67 Lois Gerdes… not only is it a chance to appear in public but also to represent Fulda. Miss Fulda’s main task is to compete in the Miss Minnesota Pageant in June along with over 50 other girls. As Miss Fulda you will gain confidence and self esteem on your year-long journey as well as share your talents while making wonderful new friends. It truly is a wonderful experience.
1967 Summer Festival program is now complete and the Fulda Businessmen will now hold Festival Daze Sale July 22 featuring exceptional bargains in every store.
Memorial in the name of Mrs. Frank Lenhoff goes to the Cancer Fund.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday for Clyde Reeves whose death occurred at the Schmidt Memorial Hospital in Westbrook on the night of June 24th. Mr. Reeves was 82 years old.
Sheila Moore and James Ruesch were married on July 1st at Trinity Lutheran Church of Sibley.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Fisher and Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Gerhard have received word of the birth of their granddaughter, born July 2nd. The parents are Mr. and Mrs. Michael Fisher.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Leinen are the parents of a son, born July 2nd. Grandparents include Mrs. William Leinen and Mrs. Freda Koehn.
Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Schenatzki are the parents of a daughter, Teri, born July 1st. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Schenatzki and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Johnson.
Lighted candelabra and bouquets of variegated flowers at the alter of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brewster provided the setting on June 24th for the marriage of Judith Fiedler and Leland Thiesen.

Dale Kirsch joins the staff at the Fulda High School as the new Principal. He, and his wife, Elaine, and two daughters, moved into Fulda this week.
At the June 16th meeting for the Fulda School Board, it was decided by a vote of 5-1 to participate in open enrollment. Superintendent Wandersee was strongly in agreement with the plan because he felt Fulda’s fine education system would be an asset.
Highway 59, between Slayton and Fulda, is scheduled for a bituminous seal coat this summer.
Hilda Kirchner shares her memories of being a resident of the Fulda area since 1903.
The Fulda City Council had a heated discussion on the storm and sanitary sewers in the city. The discussion included confusion as to where the lines were located, the new line being installed on Highway 59. A line that was closed this spring, and the line leading to the old lagoon area which is now shut off by the state. Tom Webb entered the conversation stating he has sewer backing up in his basement and that his problems started when the county ditch 40 was rerouted. The council agreed on a study of the sanitary and storm sewers.
Tami Jorgensen and Dallas Rasmussen were united in marriage at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on June 13, 1987.
Norton A. Schmidt passed away at the age of 74 years old on June 26th.
Vernal Roop passed away on July 1st at the age of 60 years, 3 months and 10 days.
Clarence Vick passed away July 1st at the age of 84 years old.
Martha Washington’s silver service, it is said, was the source of the silver that went into the first U. S. coins.

Fulda Community Choir to hold benefit concert for Lost Timber Bible Camp on July 7th.
Angela Adams was driving a 1986 Buick Century on the Highway 59 detour approximately two miles west of Fulda when she lost control and rolled over. Angela was wearing a seat belt and received no major injuries.
Many youngsters are enjoying a dip in the lake now these sweltering summer days.
Janae Weis and Randy Appel announce their engagement. The couple plan a September 13 wedding.
Lillian Heintz is honored as Maple Lawn Resident of the Month.
Victor Miller is celebrating his 89th birthday on June 29th.
Doug and Darci Tiesler are the parents of a daughter, Courtney born June 17th. Grandparents include Dale and Dianne Burmeister and Georgia Tiesler.
Fulda Lion’s Swim team took on Heron Lake this week.
Bernice Shanke passed away on June 28th at the age of 88 years old.
