St. Paul’s Summer Celebration “Praise in the Park”

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fulda, invites the community to attend a series of special events on Sunday, July 30th in the Fulda City Park.

The congregation will host its third annual outdoor worship service for the community at 10:00 a.m. from the park bandshell.  Benches donated for the day by Fulda Lumber will be available, or attendees can choose to bring lawn chairs.

New this year will be a vintage and restored auto and tractor show on the baseball diamond of St. Paul’s Lutheran School, across from the park.  Members of the congregation will be showing a number of vehicles in original or restored condition for community viewing.

Around noon, the congregation will provide a picnic meal composed of burgers, watermelon, sweet corn, desserts, and cold beverages for everyone to enjoy.  The picnic meal will go until about 1:00 p.m.

Support for this year’s St. Paul’s “Praise in the Park” is provided in part by an outreach grant from the Lutheran Church Extension Fund.  Donations are also being accepted to keep the event open to all members of the community free of charge.

In the event of stormy weather, the worship and meal will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (400 N. Maryland Ave.).

“We are grateful for all the participation in this event,” Rev. Shawn Ethridge, pastor of the church stated.  “This is a great opportunity for our church members to support our Fulda area community and enjoy worshiping Christ alongside our neighbors and friends.  It gives people a way to share their classic cars, trucks, and tractors with others who appreciate machinery and the stories about them.  And it draws people in the community together to take part in a fantastic picnic dinner of all the freshest and tastiest foods the summer has to offer.  There is a lot for which to be thankful!”
