After a very long meeting on Tuesday, July 11, the Murray County Board of Commissioners held the second meeting of the month on July 18 for a much shorter duration. Several items for discussion were added to the agenda.  Auditor/treasurer Heidi Winter requested the warrants be added to the agenda. This was approved so bills could be paid at the regular time.

Commissioner Dave Thiner reported on the buffer strip law and Heron Lake Watershed interpretation. He continued the county drainage authority (commissioners) should be the deciding factor for redetermination.

The board approved repair to Judicial Ditch 28 Shetek Township Section 1 as presented by Howard Konkol, ditch inspector. He also reported on the estimated cost of hiring an engineer for improvement on County   Ditch #75. The cost would be from $17,000 to $23,000 and did not include any construction costs. This was considered too costly for the county system.
