CAROL HATFIELD
Carol Joyce Hatfield, age 85, passed away on July 28, 2017 surrounded by her son, Bill Hatfield, son, Jeff Hatfield and daughter, Kim Hatfield-Gray. Carol was a loving wife, incredible mother and cherished grandmother and great grandmother. She was a longtime member of Church Street Methodist Church. Carol loved UT athletics, Atlanta Braves, playing Bridge, hiking, eating lunch with D.M. and Vi Miller at Long’s Drug Store (friends of Carol’s for over 60 years). She worked for the University of Tennessee in the Admissions Office for over 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Sidney Hatfield and granddaughter, Heather Hatfield, her mother and father, Alfred and Ruth Gunderman of Fulda, MN. Carol will be forever remembered and dearly missed by son, Bill Hatfield, son Jeff Hatfield and daughter, Kim Hatfield-Gray, grandchildren, Ryan Gray, Kiley Gray, Christopher Hatfield and Sidney Hatfield, daughter in law, Ellen Gray, great grandchildren, Jackson, Maddox and Carter Gray, sister, Peggy Schuur and brother in law, Gary Schuur of Fulda, MN; nephews, Scott Schuur, Todd Schuur and niece Amy Thier; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Hatfield; special friend and neighbor, Carol Dance Downs, special friend and caregiver, Sheila Crisp.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday at 9:00 am at Highland Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
