In memory of Lawrence Goshey

LAWRENCE GOSHEY

Lawrence “Larry” C. Goshey age 88 of Crosby died on July 30, 2017 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.  He was born in La Crosse, WI to Charley and Pearl (Baumgartner) Goshey.  Larry married JoAnn Schroeder on September 6, 1952 in Fulda, MN.  He served in the National Guard. When the Korean War broke out he enlisted in the U.S. Navy.  He was a retired employee of 3M in St. Paul with 33 years of service.  Larry was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby and served as a past president of the church council.  He was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus.  He was a former board member for Wolford Township, served on the Lake Association for Rabbit Lake and was a member of the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443, Ironton.

Larry is survived by his wife, JoAnn; five sons, Steven of Deerwood, Matthew of Ironton, John (Mary Beth) of Stacey, James (Nancy) of Crosby and Daniel (Julie) of Ironton; five daughters, Mary (Greg) Stumpf of Prescott Valley, AZ, Laura (Rodger) Kunkle of Elkhorn, NE, Patricia (Mitch) Schmidt of Annandale, Julia Sherman of Roseville and Cecelia (Ken) Martin of Spring Lake Park; twenty-nine grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.

Preceding Larry in death are his parents, an infant daughter, Roxanne Goshey and one brother, Jerome Goshey.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby.  Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby with full military honors given by the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443.  Visitation will be at the Koop Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 7pm with a rosary at 6:30 pm.  If so desired memorial are preferred in lieu of flowers.
