The Murray County Board of Commissioners held the first meeting of August on Tuesday, August 1. The warrants and ditch bills were reviewed and approved for payment.
Auditor Heidi Winter requested and was granted a subordination agreement with Carisa Clarke for property in Slayton.
Commissioner Dave Thiner spoke about checking the county tile that is in place where a solar farm may be built. Further research will be done before approving the solar farm.
Renee Logan, CFO of MCMC, gave the monthly hospital report. A fourth provider, Dr. Mark Elwein, has been hired for the ER department. ER providers will cover the hospital after 5:00 p.m. Dr. Clay Pavlis will provide mental health services beginning in September. Carrie Zens was hired as marketing director and was introduced to the auxiliary at their meeting on July 13. The Foundation will hold a Gala on October 27 at Key Largo. Ticket will be available in early September. Financially the hospital had a very positive report.
