Sights and sounds coming to life at the Murray County Fair

When you think of county fair, do you hear roosters crowing, children screaming with delight, sheep bleating for their feed, and smell grilled burgers?  It’s Murray County fair time and the sights and sounds will be coming to life on Wednesday, August 16.  For Murray County 4-H’ers, this is the time of year to show off their knowledge, share their projects, and earn recognition for their hard work.  Each of the four days of county fair hold special activities for 4-H members, their families, and supporters.

On Wednesday, all 4-H livestock is entered and stalled.  The 4-H rabbit show starts at 11:00 a.m. at Olson Arena, followed by the 4-H goat show at 2:00 p.m.  The 4-H Fashion Revue will start at 4:30 under the entertainment tent in the middle of the fairgrounds.  Fairgoers are encouraged to vote for their favorite photo from the 4-H photography exhibits on Wednesday afternoon.  This year’s Fun Food Challenge will include the best brownies from bakers of all ages.  Brownies and recipes can be brought to the 4-H Building from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.  The 4-H sheep show gets underway at 6:00 p.m.
