Otto Koestler, owner of the Lime Creek Grain Company will hold a Grand Opening September 27th.

Mr. Mark Sieve recently joined the Fulda High School faculty as 11th and 12th grade English teacher.

Softball tournament held in Dundee on Sunday. Teams attending were Currie, Dovray, Dundee, Redwood Falls, Tracy, Vesta, Wanda, and Worthington. Winning the tournament was Tracy.

Celebrating birthdays at Maple Lawn Nursing Home were Mr. John Clark, Mrs. John Clark, Mary Bartholomew, J. B. Ramerth, Rose Just, Emma Lehman, Amanda Anderson, William Klingbeil, Ted Thompson and William Koopmann. The Pink Ladies provided entertainment.

Mr. and Mrs. Lester Koopman are the parents of a son, John, born September 13th. Grandmother is Mrs. John Koopman.

Mr. and Mrs. Orville Ruesch are the parents of a daughter, Diane, born September 10th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Erich Gunderman and Mr. and Mrs. John Ruesch.

Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Kopischke are the parents of a daughter, Kristin, born September 16th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Cummings and Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Kopischke.

Playing at the Fulda Theatre is “Double Trouble’ with Elvis Presley and Annette Day.

Patricia Palmer and Capt. Wayne Crowley were united in marriage on August 27 at Treasure Island Chapel at Treasure Island, California.

Petty Officer First Class William M. Franzen has been named Recruiter of the Year.

Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1987

Leo and Agnes Hogan celebrate 30 years in business at Leo’s Service in Dundee.

Sump pump ordinance No. 137 was passed by the Fulda City Council which makes in unlawful to discharge water from footing drains, sump pumps, rain water leaders or any other method into the city sewer system.

Homecoming candidates include Chris Lawson, Eric Miller, Brian Storm, Pat Wuebker, Pam Olsem, Andrea Odenbrett, Trisha Renneke and Tami Danneman.

Twin sisters, Kathy and Karen Klein share their summer experience in Michigan and Utah.

Mark and Marge Broich are the parents of a daughter, Stacy, born September 14th. Grandparents are Duane and Marilyn Jans and Larry and Mae Broich.

Maple Lawn Nursing Home recently hosted the Area-Wide Resident Council meeting with staff from Jackson, Adrian, Ellsworth, Heron Lake, Lakefield, Windom and Luverne attending.

Anna Freetly passed away on September 18th at the age of 85 years old.

The Fulda High School held a program in honor of the birth of the United States Constitution. The Constitution celebrated it’s 200th birthday on Thursday. Students enjoyed enacting the signing of the constitution as well as making posters and signs. Residents and teaching staff took part by reciting the Preamble and the Bill of Rights and a duet of “This Land is Your Land”.

Wednesday, Sept. 17, 1997

The Fulda City Council adopts ordinance banning lead and galvanized water pipes. The ordinance calls for copper piping.

Homecoming candidates include John Klein, Adam Bucciarelli, Colin Wilde, Jeff Baumgartner, Becky Hup, Sarah Isder, Bridget Sieve and Sarah Loosbrock.

Fulda School receives grant award for a Lab Centered Instruction Grant Award.

Passing through town last week was 72 year old Paul Handy, the “Walking Man”. Handy has been walking across the nation since he was 56 years old and has covered over 40,000 miles. He is headed home to Seattle with his belongings in his shopping cart including a tent, bedroll, and the tool of his trade; a scissors. Handy creates motorcycles, sleighs, chairs, etc out of aluminum cans.

Class of 1947 holds 50 year class reunion.

Citizens of Tomorrow include Jennifer Penoyer, Amanda Bierma and Steffanie Pals.

Mr. Ed Wieskus shares the changes to the school bus safety regulations with readers.

Becky Bunkers and Derek Tonn are engaged and will be married on November 1st.

Dorance and Marion Kuehl to celebrate 40 years of marriage on September 20th.

John Diekmann passed away on September 12th at the age of 96 years old.

Ken and Cathy Salentiny are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Christine born September 10th. Grandparents are Lawrence and Blanche Salentiny and Henry and Carolyn Horman.
