A picture-perfect day greeted the Rebel runners as they made the trek north to Marshall on Monday, September 11th. Twelve teams competed during the Marshall Invitational at Independence Park.
Topping the boys competition was Waconia earning 27 points while the girls top point getter was Marshall also with 27. The Rebel squads both competed well with the girls earning a fourth place finish while the boys came in sixth overall.
Seventy-seven competitors came to the starting line. The girls race was tight right up to the end with the top three finishers had just seconds separating them. Kaleesa Houstin, Waconia, crossed the finish line first at 19:30.4, Natalee Sample, Marshall, came in next at 19:31.6 and MCC’s Morgan Gehl crossed for third – just 3/10ths of a second behind at 19.31.9.
