The Murray County Board of Commissioners held their regular meeting on September 19.  

The warrants were reviewed and with explanation of some from Heidi Winter, County Auditor/Treasurer all were approved for payment.

Four  ditch petition repairs were presented by ditch inspector Howard Konkol. Judicial Ditch #14 – tile blowout, Section 13 Chanarambie Township, – hole, broken tile, County Ditch #41 Section 27 Lowville Township – crushed tile line, CD#34 Section 30 Skandia Township – slow to drain, will do camera investigation and JD# 20A Section 2 Shetek Township – plugged tile. Discussed was Judicial Ditch 2 Sections 15 and 16 Lime Lake Township – Camera inspection showed plugged tile, tile didn’t match up properly of the two lines, and broken tile. Konkol suggested to replace the pipe under the  road.

Winter and Konkol spoke to the board about purchasing Drainage Management software. The board approved applying for the grant of  $25,000 to begin the process to preserve and upgrade the drainage systems records. The reports will provide drainage system location, type, alignment profile and dimensions to better enable data access for watershed based modeling, water planning and implementation.  The grant of $25,000 will be matched by the county and includes the software, administration fee, In-Kind hours, computer and equipment, the grant  includes a GIS intern to assemble drainage system records, and Houston Engineering which involves scanning, digitizing, database creation and organizing electronic versions of the drainage systems records.
