Coming off a very busy week with meets in Worthington and Marshall, as well as running the homecoming football from Sleepy Eye, the cross country took to the road traveling to Madison last Tuesday for the Lac Qui Parle Valley-Dawson Boyd Invite.
In a field of 60 runners for the girls race, Murray County Central/Fulda slid into the seventh place (151) as a team despite having Morgan Gehl out due to illness.
The boys had 74 competitors in the race with MCC/Fulda cruising to a fourth place finish (102) as a team.
Jordyn Sterud of Lac Qui Parle crossed the finish line for the top spot in the girls race (20.36.39). MCC’s first runner to get through the chute was Ryanna Schreier with a fine time of 22:59.86. Faith Bose pushed through the course and finished in the 29th spot overall (24.15.83) while not too far behind was Emily Kathman (33rd) with a time of 24.23.85. Khloe Gehl (38th overall) finished the race at 25:04.54 while Josie Harms (45th) earned a time of 25:49.24. Closing out the Rebel team was Lily Schmahl (59th) with a time of 29:51.88.

On the boys side Lac Qui Parle claimed the top two spots with Keiser Freetly and Mike Kvall finishing one-two. Just Clarke, MCC, was the first Rebel to get through the chute posting a fine time of 18:42.85 for the seventh overall spot.
Nathan Everson (12th) was less than a minute behind finishing the race with a time of 19:08.05. Cameron Kresko (23rd) cruised the course and finished with a time of 19:33.77. Spencer Wajer earned the 30th spot overall with a time of 20:10.71. Less than 30 seconds later Jack Pierson (35th) posted a time of 20:33.65. Kyler Deacon (54th) earned a time of 21:39.62 while Harley Hermia (59th) finished the race at 22:03.01.

In the boys 5k JV race 70 runners took to the course. MCC/Fulda’s Cale Engelkes (21st), Matt Hensley (23rd), Isaiah Kathman (24th) paced each other throughout the race posting times of 22:18.52, 22:32.01 and 22:32.39 respectively. Coming in next for the Rebels was Adrian Galves (32nd) with a time of 23:06.89. Cole Ahlers (47th) and Tyler Aanensen (48th) finished with times of 24:16.02 an 24:19.11 respectively. Rounding out the MCC/Fulda runners was Dylan Tutt (68th) with a time of 27:49.42.
Eight runners raced the 2800 meters junior high race for the Rebels. Megan Bakke earned the fifth overall spot posting a time of 12:30.95. Not far behind were the Overgaauw twins Ashley and Amanda earning 7th and 8th place with times of 12:34.89 and 12:40.66. Next up was Elle Stapek (13th) at 13:16.49. Karissa Hurd (19th) finished the race at 13:53.85. Next through the chute was Alyssa Boerboom (21st) at 14:06.01. Chelby Kesteloot (25th) cruised the course in 14:19.05 while Megan Peterson (31st) finished with a fine time of 14:48.02.
In the boys junior high race 62 competitors took to the course. Rylan Engelkes was the top runner for the Rebels finishing with a time of 11:52.44 for 8th place overall. Abel Piper was next with a 12th place finish in a time of 11:59.96. Simon Spittle (24th) finished the race in 12:52.94 while Adrian Swaller (27th) crossed the line at 13:05.10 and Ryan Risacher (42nd) finished at 13:44.47 and Wyatt Biren (59th) hit the chute at 15:47.64.
