The Fulda City Council met Monday, October 2. Cheri Bauer, representing SMOC reported on their near completion of the housing renovation housing grant in Fulda. The program is still open for new projects.
Representative of Schaap Sanitation said there will be a one percent increase in the rates for their services starting October 1. The recycling collection rate will be $3.14 per month. The 35 gallon $8.18, the 65 gallon at $11.09 and the 95 gallon is $16.98.
Bill Linquist asked to have 27.34 acres reclassified as farm land excluding the part where there are buildings. Changes will be made for the taxes paid 2019.
Safe Routes to School is a program to determine how each student arrives at the schools.
Councilman Jim Brown has met with school officials to reach every student. The project will aid the planning of walk and bike paths to and from school.
Smoke will be done in the near future to determine where sewer lines are connected.
Jason Renneke has resigned from snow removal. The city has city hall, library and the park sidewalks that have been done by a private vendor.
Code Red calls will be issued by the police department or the city clerk for notice of snow removal.
Building permits were issued to Jennifer Buchholz for a storage shed and Stacie Menken was also approved for a storage shed.
The next regular meeting will be November 6 at 6:30 pm.
