Briana Wildfeuer attends White Cane Day

Briana Wildfeuer attended the 2017 White Cane Day at the Minnesota State Capitol held on Tuesday, October 10th. She was accompanied by her mother, Alisa Schweigert, and dad, Justin Wildfeuer, along with her teacher for the visually impaired, Linda Lund, and paraprofessional, Jackie Hieronimus and friend Sydney Hieronimus.

Although October 15th is set aside nationally asWhite Cane Day, the day was observed during the week, due to the observance day falling on a Sunday.

White Cane Day celebrate the achievements of people who are blind or visually impaired. It also bring attention to the  very important symbol of blindness and the tool of independence – the White Cane. 

The event is hosted by the Minnesota State Academy for the Blind Foundation.
