Dennis Raatz and Bob Haberman enjoyed their hunting excursion Thursday morning as they each got their limit of Canadian Geese.
Funeral services were held on October 21st for Mrs. Anita Coffitt, 87, who passed away suddenly in her sleep at her home on the 19th.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Rehnelt are the parents of a son, born October 16th. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rehnelt and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Hoffman.
Lt. and Mrs. Robert Dorpinghaus are the parents of a son, Mark, born October 20th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Harold Flynn and Mr. and Mrs. Matt Dorpinghaus.
Mr. and Mrs. Gene Haberman are the parents of a son, Douglas, born October 21st. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Kittlson and Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Haberman.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Peterson are the parents of a son, John, born October 14th. Grandparents are Mrs. Anna Peterson and Mr. Jake Flemer.
Spec. Raymond Winter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Al Winter, was injured when his company was ambushed near Lai Khe, Vietnam, while on a “Search and Destroy” Mission. Raymond is recovering in a hospital in Japan.
Bell Telephone Company announces new rates – most of the changes are reductions but there are increases on some long distant calls.
The Fulda Raider football team won their first game in over two years with a 7-0 final score over Walnut Grove. After a Raider blocked punt and recovery; two nice runs by Roger Deuschle and Doug Reker set up the 3 yard TD run by Larry Reith for the team victory.
Fulda firemen were called to the Patrick Herrmann farm on Monday afternoon where winds caused debris from a near by incinerator to land on a feeder house and the farm home.
Future Fulda Citizens include Michele, Mark and Mary McIntire; Carla, Amy and Dayton Westra; and Bradley, Barbara, and Laura Winter.
Kathy Lyons and Gary McBreen were united in marriage on October 21st in Dundee.

Brian Koopman competed in the Diamond National Open Karate Championships on October 17th. He also took sixteen of his students along.
Butch Kuehl, Worthington, placed first in the brown belt competition in Diamond Nationals.
The Fulda School Board approved a contract for Wendy Buschena as Project Cope teacher.
Sarah Hager is honored as Resident of the Month at Maple Lawn Nursing Home.
The City of Fulda received an honorable mention recognition award at the 1987 Minnesota Community Improvement Recognition Conference in New Ulm on October 23.
Gretchen Meyer and Loren Koehn were united in marriage at the Immaculate Conception Church in Faribault on July 17th.
Jeffrey and Liz Bruns are the parents of a boy, Matthew, born October 17th. Grandparents are Agnes Bruns and Sally Renish.
Dean Lucht passed away on October 5th at his home at the age of 54 years old.
Wizard of Oz show to be sponsored by the Fulda Women of Today on Halloween evening at the Legion Hall.
A special fund has been set up to help cover expenses for Mrs. Ervin Smith who was injured in a farm accident.

Dave Nieman of Minnesota Rural Water Association was on hand to help with the Wellhead Protection Plan that will be required to be completed in the near future. Neiman said that three of the four wells are listed as vulnerable because of their shallowness.
The Fulda Fire Department was called out on Thursday, October 16th, at 7:05 p.m. to a pickup fire at the Vida Paplow home. The pickup belonging to Rich Paplow received extensive damage. The cause of the blaze is unknown.
The Fulda School Board elected to accept the Master Agreement with the Fulda Education Association at it’s regular meeting. A discussion was also held on the water drainage problem coming off the elementary school roof. No action was taken on this matter at this time.
Winners of the Fire Prevention Poster contest were Tim Haberman, Christine Samuel and Matt Vortherms.
More than seventy members of the Fulda High School Senior Choir traveled to Westbrook on Wednesday to take part in the annual Choral Festival. The Fulda Choir performed individually for Dr. Micheal Suzuki, SSU Music Professor, in the morning. In the afternoon Fulda was joined by choirs from Westbrook, Lamberton, and Mountain Lake to perform five vocal pieces. The combined voices from four schools numbered 350.
Art Fuchs, who spent sixteen years teaching at St. Paul’s Lutheran School here in Fulda, was inducted, along with his 1944-45 football team, into the Concordia Athletic Hall of Fame on October 3rd.
