Fulda vs. Mountain Lake Area

The Fulda Boys’ Basketball team traveled over to Mountain Lake to take on the Wolverines on December 12th and fell 95-77. Following this loss the Raiders moved to 3-2 on the season.

Matthias Kunerth led the Raiders with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Payton Marquardt added 19 points and Leighton Gehl scored 16 points.

Fulda started off cold from the field, which gave MLA an early 16-4 lead, which prompted an early timeout from the Raiders.

Following the timeout, the Raiders kicked it into gear and made their own run.

Leighton Gehl attacked the basket for scores in transition, while Matthias Kunerth got into the lane and worked the glass for scoring opportunities.

With the Raiders right back in the game, the rest of the half was a back and forth affair with the

Wolverines leading 48-45 at halftime.

Fulda vs. Hills/Beaver Creek

Following the loss to Mountain Lake, the Raiders once again looked to bounce back, this time against the Hills-Beaver Creek Patroits. A very entertaining game on Friday night bounced the Fulda Raiders way – with an 89-85 victory for the home team.

Matthias Kunerth led the way for the Raiders scoring 23 points and grabbing 20 rebounds. Dalton Slinger added 25 points (7 3-Pointers), Zach Thier had 12 points and Leighton Gehl contributed 11 points.

A back and forth start to the game quickly became an HBC lead of 26-14 with about 13 minutes remaining in the half. Following a Fulda timeout, the lid on the Fulda basket opened up and Fulda began to find its way back into the game. A flurry of 3’s from Slinger, Thier, Gehl, and Cory Renneke closed the gap for the Raiders right before half to a 47-42 lead for HBC.
