In another two-game week, the Fulda Raiders girls found themselves with another split, winning 49-40 Tuesday night against Ellsworth before falling 73-46 to Murray County Central on Thursday night.
Emily Schroer’s big night of 20 points and 20 rebounds was enough to power the Fulda Raiders past the Ellsworth Panthers Tuesday night by the score of 49-40. In a low-scoring defensive affair marked by cold shooting, it was the Raiders rebounding and free throw shooting edge that propelled them to a victory. Both team started out slow, grinding to a 24-19 halftime score. After the Panthers zipped out to a quick second half start and a 27-24 lead, the Raiders answered. Steadily Fulda pulled away, eventually securing the 9 point margin of victory on the back of a 45-24 rebounding edge and a 14-18 performance from the free throw stripe. Emily Schroer and Evany Luna teamed up to grab key rebounds and make free throws in the clutch.
