Fulda vs. Edgerton
The Raider boys had one game during the week, when they faced off against the Edgerton Flying Dutchman on Friday night. The Raider were able to shoot past the Dutchman for a 93-59 victory.
Matthias Kunerth led the Raiders with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Zach Thier hit a team-high 5 3-pointers on his way to 16 points. He also added 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Tyler Madison added 15 points and 9 rebounds. Dalton Slinger contributed 11 points.
The first half saw the Raiders look to attack the Dutchman zone defense and the Fulda shooters were ready to go. Slinger and Thier got the shooting started – knocking down 5 3’s combined in the half. Leighton Gehl (5 points) and Levi Spittle (7 points) found the distance from long range, as well, to push the Raider lead to 30-15. The Raider defense worked their hardest to contain Edgerton’s dominant post player, Trey Gilbertson. But, Edgerton was able to get the ball to him and they were able to make a run of their own to get the game back within 10 points. The Raiders once again looked again to their shooters on the offensive end with Cory Renneke (6 points) and Payton Marquardt (9 points) each knocking down a 3-pointer, as well as Gabe Spittle (2 points) hitting a nice mid-range jumper to give the Raiders a 40-26 halftime lead.
