Charleston, MO (January 24, 2018) Hurley & Associates announces the hiring of Matt Kunerth as Risk Management Consultant in their Brookings, SD office. As a consultant and licensed commodities broker with Hurley & Associates, Matt works closely with farm clients’ budgets, cash flow requirements and risk management strategies to work toward a profitable conclusion to each crop year.
Having grown up on a grain farm near Fulda, MN, Matt learned to work hard and to enjoy his work. Through his family’s seed business, he developed a business mind in agriculture and a passion for the Ag industry. He graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in Agricultural Business and a minor in Agricultural Marketing. Matt developed an interest in a career in grain marketing through internship opportunities at both a grain co-op and a soybean processing plant. He also worked as a Commodity Marketing Research Assistant while an undergrad at SDSU.
Matt first joined the Hurley & Associates marketing team as a Hog Consultant Intern the summer of 2017 in Glenwood, MN and then joined the firm full-time in December of 2017 as a Farm Marketing Consultant in Brookings, SD.
Partnering first-hand with agricultural producers, learning about what makes their operations unique, and ultimately seeing the success of farm families are what Matt really enjoys.
