Recently Gerald Bodelson VFW Post 9017 Auxiliary President Sophia Hein put out a call for help…a seamstress was needed. The Auxiliary was asked to participate in a District project to supply “Shirt Protectors” to local veterans nursing homes.
The same day the article appeared in the Fulda Free Press Sophia received a call from Lucille Magnus. After a few questions as to what was needed she said ‘I can do that’.
Sophia was surprised and asked ‘all seven of them?’ and Lucille ‘Yes’. It took less then a week and the “Shirt Protectors” were back in Sophia’s hands and ready to be delivered.
“These Shirt Protectors will make a lot of our Veterans at the Home in Luverne look very handsome during meal time,” stated Sophia. “A very big ‘Thank You’ to Lucille Magnus for sewing them for us.”
Post 9017 Auxiliary President Sophia Hein then called the District office to let them know they were ready to be picked up and delivered to the Veterans Home in Luverne. There response was ‘how did you do it so fast?’ to which Sophia responded ‘I knew the right person’.
Thank you again to Lucille Magnus for stepping up – it is greatly appreciated.
