The Raider Girls played 5 games in 8 days over a busy week. They dropped all 5 but showed improvement and heart in fighting all week. The Raiders are coming to the end of a tough, injury-plagued season but continue to strive hard each and every game.
Fulda’s busy week started with a trip to Edgerton as part of a Boy-Girl doubleheader. Playing even more shorthanded than usual due to illness, the Raiders handled the 2-2-1 press but their tough 2-3 zone was able to hold the Raider scores down in a 71-40 loss. The Raider attack was quite balanced, led by Camryn Baumhoefner with 12 points. McKenzie Evers had 8 points, Morgan Gehl had 7, and both Khloe Gehl and Kelsey Fuerstenberg had 6. Chynna Berning had 23 to lead the Dutchmen, and Lauren Sankey had 18.
The very next night, the Raiders made the long trip to Hills to battle the Patriots. Good Raider defense and nice shooting kept the Raiders in the game early, as the game settled into a 10-8 score through the first 6 minutes. Unfortunately the red-hot Patriots continued their scorching ways and went on a 26-7 run to close the half.
