A.C.E. of Southwest Minnesota relocates

A.C.E. of Southwest Minnesota has relocated their offices to 2989 Maple Road (the former Legends building) in Slayton, Minnesota. They were previously located in the Health and Human Services building (next door), and were notified late last summer that Southwest Health and Human Services would be renting the entire building from the County in 2018.  Therefore, the search began for new office space for A.C.E.

According to A.C.E. Executive Director, Michelle Baumhoefner, the move took place the end of December and they are now becoming acquainted with their new surroundings. “The nice thing,” said Baumhoefner, “is that we now have a space to hold meetings and other small gatherings.” They’ve already held two A Matter of Balance class series at their new location – prior to the move, (free) space to hold the sessions would have been sought elsewhere in the community.

In addition, their upcoming Powerful Tools for Caregivers training sessions and their dementia friendly community classes will be held at their new location. “It is convenient for those taking the classes as well as the coordinators,” continued Baumhoefner. They hope to create a caregiver support group in the near future as well. “The space is very beneficial.”
