The Graham Lake Braves 4H Club met on Sunday, February 25, 2018, as part of the annual Community Pride Project work. The group has been making fleece blankets for Project Linus for approximately 8 years now. This year, the group made 18 blankets, funded by club monies raised through the annual fundraiser, in the amount of $150.
Project Linus is a non-profit organization that donates new handmade quilts, afghans and blankets to children in need of a comforting blanket in many situations.
The mission of Project Linus is first to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.” Secondly, to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.
