More than 35 members of the Maple Lawn Senior Care Center Pink Ladies gathered on Tuesday, April 17, in the dining room of Mapleview Estates for an Appreciation Luncheon.
After Annette Kremer, Maple Lawn Senior Care Center Activities Director, welcomed the group, Lyn and Doug Ramerth, Ramerth Hardware presented a program on making homemade wines.
The Ramerths talked about visiting friends who were making homemade wine and how Lyn’s interest in the hobby was piqued through that conversation. For her next birthday, she was given a wine making kit and she and Doug have been making wine since then.
They explained that they carry all of the necessary supplies for wine making at their store, Ramerth Hardware, located on Front Street.
Many questions were asked of the Ramerths such as what flavors of wines they make, if they have to keep the wine cool during the brewing process, how they store it, and where they find the bottles to bottle it in.
