The girls golf team hosted an eight team invitational on Thursday, May 10, at the Fulda Town and Country Golf Course.
Under overcast conditions on the par 72, 18 hole course, the Murray County Central Rebels won the invitational with a low score of 390.
MCC had three of the top six golfers (there was a tie for fifth place). Abby Hamman was the medalist, shotting an 86 on the day. Amber Boock (98) and Paige Behrends (99) were the other Rebels in the top five. Second place went to Adrian’s Alexia Kemper who carded 88. Windom’s Paige Pigman and Sophia Nelson finished in third and tied for fifth, shooting 93 and 99 respectively.
The Heron Lake-Okabean Fulda Coyotes took third place, led by Lynneigh Vrooman and Elly Bang, who each came in with 102. Samantha Freking finished with 104, and Tayler Warburg had 108 for the Coyotes.
Windom finished in second with 395. Adrian entered the clubhouse with 419 for fourth. Westbrook-Walnut Grove (489), Southwest Christian (500), Mountain Lake Area (582) and Hills-Beaver Creek (incomplete), rounded out the team finishing order.
The Red Rock Conference golf meet will be held on Wednesday, May 16 at Worthington.
