The junior high golf season started the same way as the rest of the spring sports with cancellations and postponements. After indoor practices and four changes in competitions, the golfers finally headed to Pipestone for their first meet on April 27. Competing for the Coyotes were Evan Madsen, Dylan Hattendorf, Tyler Luitjens, Justin Schroer, Nick Freese, Elly Bang and Meakin Bang. This was the first chance for the golfers to play on a golf course so scoring wasn’t the main concern. It was a beautiful day and the athletes did well.
On Monday, May 7, four golfers headed to Marshall to compete. Jaxson Tiesler golfed a fine round finishing at 50. Justin Schroer and Evan Madsen turned in scores of 60 and 65 respectively. Elly Bang finished with a fine round 54.
The following Monday, Fulda hosted a meet with wet conditions and 43 golfers competing. Eli Fisher golfed his first round competing in the 7th grade division and finishing with an 85. Jaxson Tielser won the 8th grade division with a round of 40 on the shortened course. Jacob Fischer finished in 3rd place with a 45 and Justin Schroer and Evan Madsen rounded out their scoring with 58 and 59 respectively. In the 9th grade division, Tyler Luitjens shot a 59 and golfing in the JV division, Massen Kunerth shot a 51 and Tyler Raverty carded a 57.
Last Thursday the team traveled to Tracy to compete. Jaxson Tiesler continued his fine play finishing at 50 followed by Jacob Fischer at 55, Justin Schroer at 59, Evan Madsen at 75 and Eli Fisher at 81. In the JV division, Tyler Luitjens carded a 56, Massen Kunerth a 60 and Ethan Untiedt a 66.
